2024-2025 CHARITY RESULTS
Five quilts and one top with backing were donated to the guild at the June 2025 meeting. Two will be delivered to Children’s Aid, two to Sanctuary for Families and one quilt plus the top were donated to Freedom House.
Based on the charity table sign-in sheets for September 2024-June 2025, there were 97 completed quilts donated to our charities. Of these quilts, 20 were delivered to Children’s Aid, 24 to Sanctuary for Families and one to the Northern Manhattan Improvement Center. The remaining 52 quilts were donated to Freedom House/Project Linus.
If you know of a charity that would like to receive quilts from the guild next fall, and you are willing to handle the deliveries, please ask the charity to send an email to the guild with the charity’s name, address, phone number, email address and 501(c)(3) number along with information about the population it serves.

Seventeen quilts were donated at the April meeting. Nine will be delivered to Freedom House and eight to Project Linus. Thank you to everyone who took home and finished the quilts left over from the March meeting.

These quilts are distributed to families in our Early Head Start programs,specifically to expectant families and those with young children. CHARITY DAY RESULTS
At the end of the meeting we had 20 quilts ready to be delivered. Nine went to Freedom House, six to Xavier Mission and five to Sanctuary for Families. In addition, we had 13 more quilts that were nearly finished and were taken home by members for further tying or quilting. Carol Strasser

As you know, the March 14, 2026 meeting is our big push to make quilts for our charity organizations: Children’s Aid, Freedom House/Project Linus, Sanctuary for Families and Xavier Mission. These organizations need a wide range of quilts for those in need, from crib quilts to lapquilts. So please plan on bringing a top that we can together make into a quilt. The chart below gives suggested quilt top sizes.
Please plan on bringing sewing supplies for your own project: needles, scissors, pins, thread, etc. We will have some batting and backing material on hand but, if you can, please bring the batting and backing necessary for your top. We will also have available some embroiderythread for tying. Janice will bring some UFO bundles of cut squares orpartially made projects from former members and fabric donations. Potluck first come first served.

Thirteen quilts were donated at the September meeting. Thanks to the large number of quilts, we will be able to deliver very fine quilts to each of our charitable organizations. Three quilts will be delivered to Children’s Aid Society, three to Sanctuary for Families, three to Freedom House and four to our newest recipient, Xavier Mission.
The non-profit Xavier Mission has been added to the other organizations (Freedom House, Project Linus, Children’s Aid and Sanctuary for Families) that can receive quilts donated by guild members.
